Dunken, age 61

Duncan, favored among Cody's Books employees, obtained permission from the owners to borrow and set up a table just in front of their store on Telegraph Avenue. Almost every day for twelve-thirteen years Duncan filled his table with local publications, events announcements and an annual calendar featuring pictures of the people and street culture that populate the "Avenue". Duncan and a friend of his, Ace, began putting out the calendar over fourteen years ago.

When asked about homelessness or street life (which often refer to different things), Duncan explained that he prefers less confusing terminology; he makes a distinction between "indoor living kinds of people" and "outdoor living kinds of people." Duncan has many friends living on the street in the Telegraph area and often prefers their company to "indoor living" folks, even though he is "not necessarily and outdoor living kind of person." When asked where he lives he answered, "I do an awful-lot-of living right here."
As of writing, Cody's Books no longer has a location on Telegraph Avenue.
